The FGT rotor system is a drum-style configuration featuring a smooth rotor surface, spiral tool pattern, and innovative tool shape for smooth, efficient cutting. In addition to outstanding performance, the FGT rotor system is built to last in the severe application of mulching. Forged tools and tool holders, a V-Back tool fastening system, heavy-wall drum material, and an efficient structural design have been proven in tough applications for thousands of hours with power in excess of 600 HP.

FGT Rotor detail
The shape of HDT tools, low profile rotor bars, stronger forged tool holder design, and a staggered tool pattern provide excellent mulching performance and durability. HDT Rotor detail
Introducing the Depth Control Rotor (DCR) system. The Fecon DCR brings a superior level of performance and value to mulching, controlling the depth of bite and directing material flow so that energy is reserved for production. The innovative DCR cuts quickly, delivering better fuel economy and more uniform particle size. The DCR system leverages the reversible Viking Axe knife tool. The rotor and the tool are paired for optimal performance and long-lasting productivity.
Depth control rings of the DCR system work with the Viking Axe knife to enable more cutting with less horsepower. The shape of the Viking Axe knife edge slices as it chips, providing greater forgiveness on rock than straight-edged tools or saw teeth.
Depth control rings lend further impact protection to the tool body, and reduce shock loading to the mechanical or hydraulic driveline.
DCR Rotor detail
The proven double carbide system is renowned for its versatility in wood shredding. It is the most popular choice, providing the best combination of all-around performance and durability.
A great tool option for a combination of faster cutting and durability when dealing with hard wood. They can be easily intermixed with the double carbides to deal with ever changing material.

Ideal for areas where rock cannot be avoided, the FGT Stone Tool provides superior durability and wear life in more severe conditions.
Double sided and easily flipped for a brand new cutting edge. Ribs behind the knife’s edge lend to increased strength and durability. The tapered tool body allows chip material to flow efficiently with an optimal attack angle.
Carbide wear plates are added to the body of the Standard Double Carbide tool, extending useful life in highly abrasive conditions by slowing wear to the body.
The thicker Axe blade is reinforced with ribs behind the knife’s edge to give it increased strength. The Axe tool is easily flipped for a brand new cutting edge, doubling the tool’s life.
