Which Stump Grinder Attachment Is Right for Your Machine?
The right stump grinder depends on two things: the machine you are running it on and the hydraulic flow it can deliver. Every Stump Hog attachment is built to mount to equipment you already own, so start with the carrier.
Stump Grinders for Skid Steers and Skid Loaders
Skid steers and skid loaders have the widest model choice in the line. On the standard-flow end, the Stumper FST220 and FST240 run on 8 to 25 GPM. The STUMPEX 2-Speed mounts to skid steers and CTLs through a universal quick-attach on 20 to 42 GPM. For high-flow machines, the Stumper FST360 and Stump Hog SH270 SS are built for 30 to 50 GPM. Check your skid steer's rated auxiliary flow and we will confirm which model fits.
Stump Grinders for Mini Skid Steers and Compact Loaders
The Compact STUMPEX runs on as little as 10 to 20 GPM, making it the fit for mini skid steers and other compact loaders that cannot deliver the flow larger grinders need. The Stumper FST220 covers the same low end of the flow range, at 8 to 12 GPM, and mounts to mini skid steers, mini excavators, and compact loaders alike.

The excavator's curling action gives a stump grinder ideal reach and control, and the line covers a wide weight range. The Stumper FST240 and FST280 mount to excavators on 12 to 45 GPM, and the STUMPEX 2-Speed excavator model covers 8 to 20 ton machines on 40 to 65 GPM. Stump Grinders for Tractors
Yes, Fecon builds a PTO stump grinder: the Stumper FST3500 mounts to a Class 2-3 three-point hitch and runs on 40 to 90 PTO horsepower at 540 PTO RPM, no hydraulic flow required. The Stump Hog SH300 also mounts to tractors, with a 48-inch wheel for larger stumps. Tell us your tractor's PTO horsepower and hitch class and we will confirm the fit.
